Belated Mother's Day 2007

This weekend was the first opportunity for all the Ray children to descent upon Mom and Pop's house to celebrate Mom's Mother's Day. Glenn, Michelle, Jake, and Ben had not been able to come to town from Olive Branch in quite a while due to the boys' basketball and then baseball games. We cooked out hamburgers and hot dogs and had all sorts of other goodies. We even managed to get a few family pictures. The kids enjoyed playing crochet and baseball in the yard. Baseball in the front yard is a long standing family tradition.

JA 3rd Grade End of the Year Party

On the last day of School (Tuesday, May 22), Mrs. Thornton's 3rd grade class at JA enjoyed a fun End of the Year Party. Frances served as one of the organizing room mothers for the party. The kids had pizza and fancy cupcakes made to look like little flower pots.

Amanda really loved 3rd grade, especially being in Mrs. Thornton's class.

Amanda Enjoys JA Raider Reader 50,000 Point Picnic

At the beginning of the school year, the JA elementary faculty established a goal of 50,000 Raider Reader points for grades 1-6 by the end of the school year. If they reached this goal, the school would host a special Raider Reader picnic for all the students. When all Raider Reader points had been totaled, the students had accumulated an amazing 56,000 points. Amanda really enjoyed reading this year and exceeded her goal for the first time.
