Amanda is a Cheerleader

What a change....Amanda in 5th grade on the cheer squad....Amanda when Anthony was on the 5th grade football team and she wanted to be on the cheer squad!

Hello family and friends! I bet that you all thought that we had forgotten how to blog. School is off to a great start. The first 9 weeks is almost over and everyone is doing great in school. Basketball has started. Anthony gets to school 3 mornings a week to lift weights and shoot before school starts. They also practice in the afternoons. In two weeks the weight lifting will stop and they will have practice before school. They have also had conditioning 2 afternoons a week. For those of you who didn't play, that is where they run, run, run, until they just think they can't run anymore. Then, they keep running. Whoever said football was a tough sport had never played basketball. Anthony has hit 6 feet and weighs about 150 lbs.

Amanda's current sport is cheerleading. She is on the maroon 5th/6th grade cheer squad. It is intramural so we are always at JA. No traveling to other schools yet. That is nice. She looks so cute in her cheerleader outfit. With the new layers she got in her hair she looks about 15 years old. Her friends Madison Carrol and Avanell Newman are on her sqad Julz!
This summer we started off our adventures in Chicago. We spent a week there in June. Amanda had been wanting to go to the American Girl Museum for some time. We had lots of fun but were ready to come home. Getting home was a real pain considering the weather was awful.
Then Anthony went back to Duke with Ty Rust. They had a great time. This was their second year to attend basketball there with Coach K. They have decided that they want to do something a little different next year, maybe Georgetown or Kansas State. We told them to do it while they can! We shall see.
Julz and Mark came from Africa and we all had a family reunion down at the beach! It was the most awesome trip ever. We all had a wonderful time getting to relax and never really having a time schedule.
Our annual girl's trip took us to Richmond, Virginia, to visit Babe, Jim, Jay, and Baby John. I think that was Amanda's favorite trip of the summer. She had strep throat the whole time we were there. We got to meet Jay's doctor and everything. We had so much fun getting to know Jay and John and seeing them in their surroundings! Amanda even journaled about it as her favorite thing about her summer.
Chuck and I got to go a few weeks ago to visit Sean and Ellen in Jonesboro, AR. It was so awesome to get to worship with them. The fellowship was just the refreshment that we needed. Very relaxing.
We then headed to Pensacola for Stacy and Justin's wedding. We were gone for 32 hours and spent 9 hours of that in the car.
In a couple of weeks Amanda will go back to Chicago with mom and dad. Last year she went to the CCIM convention with them. She was the only child that went and they all had so much fun with her that she is going back. She says that she is the youngest member of the CCIM.
Hopefully after this we will be home for a while. That will all be relative of course because basketball season starts in November and we will be on the road sometimes 2 or 3 nights a week. Makes me tired to think about it.

Noah is coming tomorow to spend the week with us while Stacy and Justin are on their honeymoon. We are going to the fair on Wednesday. Julz, we will eat a pronto pup for you!

Well, we are not going to wait so long to blog again. Give everyone a big squeeze for us and we will catch up soon!
